Reduce weight without dieting

In today’s world, weight loss is a fad. There are various institutions that promise to help you in loosing weight with the help of their weight loss programs. These programs include diet, yoga, medication, exercises etc which might entice many people but the question here is are these programs actually helpful in achieving the goal that you have set for yourself. You may find posters, ads everywhere on walls, and doors with million contact numbers to give you suggestion and weight loss tips. All these promises might not be true; all these tips might not work for you rather it might eat up most of the money from your wallets with not even an ounce of weight reduced from your body. All these weight reducing pills, exercises and diet might help you in loosing weight and you might end up paying a bomb to the institute but one thing should be kept in mind, until and unless you don’t eat right and exercise regularly you can achieve your goal. Whatever reduction in the weight that you can see might just be temporary, actual results can be seen only when there is a perfect balance between the intake of calories and physical exercise.
Calorie is the measure of the energy that we get from the consumed food and drinks. There is a fixed amount of calories defined for females and males that should be taken per day, if you take calories more than this defined amount it gets converted into fats and starting accumulating in the body which is the reason of increase in the body weight. Excess fats in the body leads to various diseases and other health issues; increased weight is of course one of them. The extra calories taken can be burnt by regular exercise. Hence, it is said that there should be a perfect balance between the amount of calories you take and the work out in order to live a healthy and fit life. If you eat more and do not do physical work then your body tends to bulge out. So, if your body weight is more than required, you should control the amount of calorie intake and get involved in more of physical activities. Calorie intake can be controlled by changing your food habits. You don’t have to be on a strict diet to loose weight rather changing your food habits a bit can help you out. Substitute food with high calories with low calorie and healthy food. If you can avoid eating junk food and rather eat healthy unprocessed food, you can see the difference for yourself. Keep yourself involved in physical activities and control the amount of food you eat. Few of the substitutes that can help you in shredding off excess weight are:
- Substitute aerated drinks like coke, pepsi and all with fresh fruit juices , lime water etc.
- For snacks, avoid fried items rather have fruits. There are fruits that have very less calorific value
- Wait for a few miles everyday and avoid driving and riding as much as possible. This way you can get involved in some physical activity
- Make it a habit to take staircase instead of escalators wherever and whenever possible
- Move around a bit during breaks and go for short walks.
- Junk food can be replaced with salads and fruits
- Add more fiber to your diet as it improves the digestive system and also keeps you full and you don’t feel hungry
- Avoid overeating rather eat right food in right quantity in frequent intervals
With little change in the food habits and routine will make things happen for you. I often come across the wrong notion people have in their mind that they loose fats through sweating which is not true. These are only the waste products that get excreted out from the body. I have also seen people hogging low calorie food but they should understand that even these food items have calorie although not that much but you might end up taking in more calories than the defined amount.
Bottom line is when you eat you should understand how and how much to eat and set your goals clear in front of you.

Thanks for sharing. Great hub and info. I find it rather difficult to lose weight. I understand that we must balance what we consume with how much comes out in form of burning calories.Voted up and useful.
